As you walk Tsukiji's lively streets, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee drifts by. YONEMOTO COFFEE LAB (米本珈琲 YONEMOTO COFFEE LAB) opens at 7:30 a.m., making this coffee stand an easy stop for breakfast in Tsukiji or a break between bites as you explore.

Start with the City Blend, a deep-roasted house blend based on beans from Colombia and Brazil. It has a full body, a pleasant bitterness and a faint sweetness that lingers. The blend is also known as a flavour once enjoyed by John Lennon and Yoko Ono. There are also hand-dripped single-origin coffees, including Ethiopian, Guatemalan and Costa Rican beans, offering a cup to suit the mood of the day.

Coffee Soft Serve and a Range of Sweet Drinks

The sweets are another highlight at this coffee specialist. Soft serve with a rich milky taste, along with espresso and tiramisu soft serve, offers a refreshing way to cool off after a walk. The menu also spans plenty of sweet drinks, including a brown sugar syrup macchiato, a matcha and brown sugar syrup latte, and a selection of smoothies.

For a more substantial bite, the egg burger, generously filled with egg, and the Ogura butter burger make appealing choices. You can eat in or take your order to go, and payment is straightforward with QR-code payment services and transport IC cards. Settle in where Beatles music plays softly, or take a cup out into the bustle of Tsukiji; either makes for a pleasant pause.
